There are several very good ways to handle meals as well as groceries. You may choose to prepare some of your own meals, as well as dine out. If cooking isn't your thing, Yellow Coco Lodge now serves an optional CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST BASKET, brought to your house or bungalow daily (2 person, 3 day minimum), consisting of fresh fruits, pastries/breads, cereals, yogurts, juices, and occasionally a traditional Costa Rican breakfast of GALLO PINTO (seasoned rice and beans) served with warm tortillas and scrambled eggs. COST is $11.+ tax pp per day. Lunches are often included with your daily tours and activities. And, for other lunches, as well as dinners, there are 2 great places to eat within a very short walking distance of the lodge, as well several restaurants in town. We can also arrange for catered-in meals.
CHEF EVENING: Chef comes right to your house: prepares dinner while also giving you a cooking lesson (sometimes he even brings his guitar): included in the pricing is dinner preparation, cooking lesson, serving, and clean-up, and dinner will include a first course, an entree, and desert. Cost is $85. for up to 6 people, and $10. per each additional person. COST of GROCERIES is additional. THIS IS A FUN EVENING, and the food is delicious. We require 4 weeks notice to schedule this event.
Every Tuesday night there is a great "right on the beach" barbeque under the stars, with waves pounding and lit totally be Tiki torches. Every Friday night there is a fun evening known by the locals as "Spaghetti Night" (really an Italian buffet) complete with live music and dancing, and both are just a short 5 minute beach walk from Yellow Coco Lodge..
We will be happy to grocery shop for you for a $20 per trip charge. Or perhaps you would like us to arrange your own personal chef? If so, we will need to know at least 1 week prior to your arrival, including the number of days as well as food preferences. Just let us know..
Meals depending on where you eat or cater in from will vary. For example, lunches can range from about $7 per person and up. Dinners can range from approx. $12 per person for the more casual beachy-type ones, to $30 per person for finer dining. Service personnel in your home will run approx $30 per meal for the evening, plus tip.

Grocery costs are very similar to the United States, and sometimes higher. Keep in mind that we are somewhat limited, being that we are in a rather remote location..
